What to Bring for multiple day rides:

Your own travel insurance.

Usually we have sunny days up to 27 C and cloudy afternoons that can get as cold as 5 C. You will need light clothes for the morning and a pullover or a jacket for the afternoon. Please bring warm clothes for overnight stay.

It is always best to have as much of your body covered to protect you from insects, sun, brush and thorns, therefore bring long-sleeved shirts. A hat, sun lotions, insect repellent, sun glasses are also required. 

Rain gear is a must, specially if you are coming during winter (November through June) or during the days of early moon phase.

Don’t forget your swimming suit so you can join us at the hot Jacuzzi. 

We will provide you with rubber boots for some short rides, but we recommend that you bring your equipment (boots or chaps, gloves, helmet) for longer rides.

For multiple day rides bring warm clothes for bed time, a towel, bathing suit, a small flashlight, a thermos or a water bottle, and any special medication you might need.
 

From the Forest to the Heavens

A two day ride of seven hours each to experience the stunning beauty & great variety of micro climates around the crater.  The first day we will ride  around inside this unique crater and after a refueling lunch break we will climb to a 3000 m mountaintop with 360 degree breathtaking view of the surrounding volcanos. The second day we will start a four hour descent from 3000m to a crystal clear small river at 1600m. This ride will take us though the cloud forest with exotic orchids and a beautiful cascade.   Finally we will ascend through Pre-Incan trails that lead us back to the Pululahua Crater.  We will finish this day in a hot water Jacuzzi bath.

2 Day Basic Package

First day arrive to Pululahua Reserve and do a four hour exploration ride around the Pondoña lava dome. We will ride down an ancient walking trail and end with a lunch break near the northwest side of the crater. We will continue to a volcanic spring and do a short walk to an orchid paradise.  We will finish this day at the hosteria with a hot Jacuzzi followed by a home cooked organic meal.  Second day early start followed by a long 6 to 7 hour ride through the cloud forest, clear streams, and ancient limestone kilns.  You will be stunned by the diversity and the history of this unique crater near La Mitad del Mundo.
